Newsletter December 2003

Dear Members,

Concern has been expressed about the cancellation of meetings when a speaker cannot attend due to unforeseen circumstances. In order to avoid last-minute cancellations in the future, the committee have agreed on some substitute events that could be used in emergencies.

The committee tends to think that visits to outside events should be in addition to regular talks at the BMI or similar venue. We would value your comments on these and any other points at the AGM on 30 January.

WATCH THIS SPACE. A SPECIAL REDUCTION IN THE FULL SUBSCRIPTION RATE IS PROPOSED FOR NEXT YEAR – DETAILS IN THE NEXT NEWSLETTER.

Elena has been approached by the British Council to submit ideas for possible links between different institutions in Ekaterinburg and Birmingham. She will keep us up-to-date with any developments

We are planning a longer newsletter after Christmas. Please send any contributions to Heather Haslett, 16 Beverley Road, Leamington Spa, CV32 6PJ. or by email to h.haslett@classicfm.net
