A talk in English. Examples in Russian with English translations. A fun description of some of the difficulties, traps and pitfalls for learners of Russian, and some of the things that are easy. There will be an interactive demonstration of Ruslan Russian books and CDRoms, and a preview of some new songs and poems for learners.

Suitable for all with an interest in learning Russian, from new beginners to experienced teachers.

John Langran was Head of Birmingham's Brasshouse Centre from 1973 to 1993, and has been Director of Studies for Pitmans Training in Russia. He is author of the BBC Russian Phrasebook (1995) and co-author of the Ruslan Russian series (www.ruslan.co.uk).
